Wellcome to Vladimir and Suzdal which are keep architecture and cultural features of very old Russia 12-th century!

Moscow – Rostov – Yaroslavl – Vladimir – Suzdal – Vladimir – Moscow

These ancient towns, which also played a significant role in the formation of the Russian Orthodox Church, preserve the memory of the most important and significant events in Russian history. The towns have been called "open-air museums" and feature unique monuments of Russian architecture of the 12th–18th centuries, including kremlins, monasteries, cathedrals, and churches. These towns are among the most picturesque in Russia and prominently feature Russia's famous onion domes.

In this tour You can see historical places in heritage transport and take a dive into the olden times. You will enjoy magnificent views opening from your window on route.

Days of the tour

Day 1
Moscow – Rostov – Yaroslavl - train to Vladimir

Meeting with a guide at the main entrance of YAROSLAVSKIY rail way station.
00:15 аm – departure to Rostov by retro steam train.
7:29 аm Arrive Rostov.
Rostov is one of the oldest towns in the country(it was first mentioned in the year 862) and a tourist center of the Golden Ring. It is located on the shores of Lake Nero, 202 kilometers (126 mi) northeast of Moscow. While the official name of the town is Rostov, it is also known to Russians as Rostov Veliky (Rostov the Great). Rostov Yaroslavsky is the official name of its railway station (due to its position in Yaroslavl Oblast).

Transfer to Yaroslavl by bus.
Yaroslavl is a city, located 250 kilometers (160 mi) northeast of Moscow. The historic part of the city, a World Heritage, is located at the confluence of the Volga and the Kotorosl Rivers. It is one of the Golden Ring cities. Founded in 9 century, this ancient city became Russia's second largest city in the 17th century, and for a time (during the Polish occupation of Moscow in 1612), the country's de facto capital.

Day 2
Vladimir – Suzdal – Vladimir – Moscow

7:55 am – Arrive Vladimir.
Vladimir is more than 1,000 years old. It was founded by the prince Vladimir Svyatoslavovich in 990. It is located in the heart of the historic Vladimir region (Vladimirskaya Oblast) in 180 kilometers northeast of Moscow on the bank of the Klyazma River. Now Vladimir is one of the cities of the Golden Ring, which attracts a lot of tourists from all over the world by its historic sights and museums. Most of them date to the 12th century, and they are inscribed by UNESCO on the World Heritage List.
Breakfast in a local cafe.
Sightseeing tour including the Golden Gate and Dmitrievsky Cathedral, visit to Assumption Cathedral.
Lunch in a local cafe.
Transfer to Suzdal by bus. Suzdal was first mentioned in Russian chronicles in 1024. The golden age of Suzdal was at the beginning of 12th century, during the governing of Prince Yuri Dolgorukiy. In 1125 he had declared independence from Kiev and founded his own princedom with Suzdal as the capital. At that time Suzdal had a population equivalent to London or Paris. The Kremlin of Suzdal and the Monastery of our Saviour and St. Euthimius are UNESCO heritage sites.
Visit to the Kremlin of Suzdal. Tour of the Monastery of the Saviour and St. Ethimius with a visit to the Cathedral of the Transfiguration of the Saviour painted by masters from Kostroma in the 17th century.
Return to Vladimir.
19:05 pm – departure to Moscow by retro steam train.
Dinner in the train
23:39 pm - arrive on Kursky station of Moscow.

Translator services are not included in the price and can be booked for 1 500 rubles per hour. In case you have your own translator the surcharge for his trip is 4 500 rubles.
